CDAC Project: “Chat Application Using JSP & Servlets”

Description:

This is a web based chat application and uses only JSP and Java Servlets.The primary goal of the system is to provide the facility to communicate in real time with other people irrespective of the environment in which it is implemented i.e. a company, institute or any other place. There is a central server handling all communications to and from clients. Each user can run the client program and connect to server to start chatting. Chat Application supports-1) it allows users to find other logged in users. 2) It informs users in particular room when someone joins, leaves the room or logs out. 3) It allows users to store some personal information, which can be viewed by others.

Final Year:

Title: “Remote Process Monitoring” with special reference to Prism technology, Pune.

Brief Overview Of Project:

The objective of our project is to transmit the parametric data from the processes, which are hazardous for human being, to a remote handheld device using infrared transmission. In our project we are using micro controller for its special features.
The processor, which is used to get the status from the transducers in a plant or a system. Transducers/Sensors detect the system parameters and accordingly give predefined signal levels to the processor. The processor then processes the data derived from all the transducers, according to the way processor is programmed. It has sophisticated displays to show the measured quantities.

Special Achievements:

• Winner for Exhibition (stamps & coins) in College competition.
• I was invited to participate in annual foreigners cup TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP Korea 94.

Extra Curricular Activities:

• Active member of EESA (Electronics Engineering Student Association) in college.

Title: Performance Evaluation of TCP over ATM for LAN Topology

Brief Overview of Project:

ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) network is the only network in which we transmit audio, video & data on a single line. So ATM is a transfer mode for implementing B-ISDN .For wide acceptance of ATM it must allow the efficient usage of currently widespread services & protocols such as TCP.
In short we have performed five types of simulations using NIST simulator for our TCP over ATM performance evaluation for LAN topology.

• 1st using a simple TCP connection without any congestion avoidance algorithms
• 2nd Implementing EPD buffer management algorithm.
• 3rd Network using ABR & VBR as a background traffic using RED algorithm for Reno TCP standard.
• Simulations comparing Reno /Tahoe TCP STDs. With varying switch buffer sizes & adoption of buffer management (EPD).
• Comparative simulations between EPD, RED, and FBA buffer management algorithms in terms of efficiency & fairness.
